Join me and others to observe and sketch the changing season around us. I will help you to start a journal that you can keep yearly for your observations of the natural world. We will walk and sketch at Mcintire Park in Charlottesville from 12:30-2:30 on March 15, April 19, and May 10th.
You need to bring:
1. A journal. Page size should be around 6 x 9 (make it be a size that can easily travel with you!). If you want larger, that is fine. I also prefer Hot press (smooth paper) and heavy weight (140 is ideal but hard to come by). Not spiral bound. I think the softer journals are best since they can open flat.
(this is ok but is cold press although moleskine tends to be pretty smooth)
2. pencil (HB is fine)
3. Micron pen (size 01)
4. portable watercolor set (optional , but windsor newton or schminke are recommended)
5. water brush (Niji is good) or portable brush that can fold with a water container
6. outdoor gear - hat, sunscreen, bug spray, water, pop up chair, lunch
*Please note that there will be no refunds within one week of the start of class*
